GM Survey Meter

A compact and portable radiation detector using a Geiger-Mueller (GM) counter. GM survey meter is simple in structure and handling, inexpensive, and is used as a survey meter for β-, X-, and γ-rays. This survey meter is used for measurement of surface contamination. The measured values are displayed as radiation counts per minute (cpm). Since GM survey meter also detects naturally occurring radiation, it has a background count of about 100 cpm.
