Radiation Education and Training Required for Radiation Workers


A new radiation worker must attend "Radiation Education and Training for New Radiation Workers" (4h) before entering the cotrol area.
A radiation worker registered in the previous year is required to attend "Radiation Education and Training for Registered Radioation Workers" once in a year.
RI center holds both courses, "Radiation Education and Training for New Radiation Workers" and "Radiation Education and Training for Registered Radioation Workers" several times a year.
RI center currently provide the courses of education and training using CLE for those who have pre-registered in terms of COVID-19. Please contact your department office to register for a course.

Who is a New Radiation Worker?

The following persons are required to attend the course, "Radiation Education and Training for New Radiation Workers".
① The person handling RI and radiation for the first time
② The person who has not attend the education and training for more than 1 year
③ The person who has transferred to Osaka Univ. and is handling RI/radiation for the first time at Osaka Univ.


Contents and number of hours for the course "Radiation Education and Training for New Radiation Workers"

 RI center conducts the following contents and number of hours for the course.
(1)Biological effect of radiation 0.5h
(2)Safe handling of RI and radiation generators 2h
(3)The law concering prevention of radiation hazards 1h
(4)Radiation hazards prevention program 0.5h


Contents for the course "Radiation Education and Training for Registered Radioation Workers"


 RI center conducts the course for 2h.
(1)Biological effect of radiation
(2)Safe handling of RI and radiation generators
(3)The law concering prevention of radiation hazards and radiation hazards prevention program
