SPECT Camera

This is an instrument for single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) used for imaging of in vivo kinetics of radiopharmaceuticals, currently used for animal imaging such as mice and rats. By measuring γ-rays emitted from administered radiopharmaceuticals with a γ camera (scintillation detector), planar and three-dimensional images are obtained. In addition to Tc-99m and I-123, which are commonly used in clinical SPECT examinations, At-211, which is being studied as a targeted alpha therapy nuclide, can also be used for SPECT imaging.
