Capillary Electrophoresis System

This instrument is a capillary electrophoresis system. A capillary with an inner diameter of 25 to 150 μm filled with buffer solution is used, and voltage is applied to both ends to perform electrophoresis on components in solution. Separation and analysis are possible due to differences in mobility caused by differences in the charge of the sample and the size of the molecules. Because the inner diameter of the capillary is quite small, the generation of Joule heat is minimized, and this enables rapid separation by applying a high voltage. The separated components are detected by UV-visible spectrophotometer.
